A Festival of Carols

The Royal Canadian College of Organists Halifax Centre presents its 73rd annual Christmas celebration, A Festival of Carols, featuring choral music from the 65+-voice massed choir, organ music from Halifax-area organists on Halifax’s biggest pipe organ, carols, poetry and more.
Dicken’s A Christmas Carol
December 5-29 @ Neptune Theatre’s Scotiabank Stage (1589 Argyle St, Halifax)
Back for its 21st season, Neptune Theatre presents the one-person version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge on that fateful Christmas Eve as he meets the three ghosts of Christmas past, Present, and Future.
Evergreen Festival
Weekends until December 14 @ BG (Beer Garden) (1599 Lower Water St, Halifax)
The Evergreen Festival, Nova Scotia’s outdoor winter celebration, returns. It will feature local bands and musicians performing live on the Halifax waterfront.
Reeny’s Family Christmas

Award-winning Halifax singer-songwriter Reeny brings her uplifting Family Christmas Show to The Carleton.
The Nutcracker
December 6-15 @ Rebecca Cohn Auditorium (6101 University Ave, Halifax)
Symphony Nova Scotia’s The Nutcracker has become a Halifax holiday tradition. It features larger-than-life puppets, spirited dancing, and Tchaikovsky’s iconic music.
A Còig Christmas

Nova Scotia’s Còig celebrates 10 years of spreading holiday cheer with its 2024 annual Christmas tour.
The Pear Tree Christmas Tour
December 8 @ St. Andrew’s Church (6036 Coburg Rd, Halifax)
Join musicians Adrianna Ciccone and Ellen Gibling on The Pear Tree Christmas Tour, which features fiddle and harp arrangements, carol melodies old and new, and original and traditional tunes.
Once Upon a Christmas
December 11 @ Sanctuary Arts Centre (100 Ochterloney St, Dartmouth)
Kyle Gillis and Becca Guilderson bring holiday nostalgia to Halifax by performing the entire Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas album Once Upon a Christmas.
A Very Dartmouth Christmas Concert
December 12 @ Alderney Landing Theatre (2 Ochterloney St, Dartmouth)
Featuring a hyper-local cast of characters, A Very Dartmouth Christmas Concert features an evening with all your favourite non-denominational Christmas songs, stories and snacks.

Dartmouth Players presents On Air, the story of a television crew preparing for their 35th annual live holiday broadcast when a flash blizzard throws their plans into chaos.
Broadway Brunch Holiday Edition

The Broadway Brunch is back with two shows on December 14 and December 15 to ring in the holiday season at The Carleton with Broadway tunes with a holiday twist.
