Described as a mix of isolation dance parties, lip-sync party games, and costume contests with a narrative performance, Halifax’s HEIST has announced Princess’ Pride ‘n’ Joy, an interactive three-episode livestream series that unfolds over the course of the mini-trilogy.

Picking up on the adventures first introduced in award-winning productions The Princess Show and Princess RulesPrincess’ Pride ‘n’ Joy follows Princess Edward and her true love Abel T. Suckizone as they battle The Terrifying Cloud of Darkness and attempt to inject a lonely, devastated world with a big dose of hope.

Told over three separate episodes, the series will also feature special guests.

In episode one, Lara Lewis returns as Valet Girl, the villain turned friend from Princess Rules. Episode two brings back Jay Whitehead as Princess and Abel’s bestie Didi d’Edada, and episode three introduces Chris Cochrane, known for their performances as Elle Noir, into the folklore of the Princess trilogy as the character of Joi de’Vivre.

More than a simple stage performance brought to the digital sphere. Each episode of Princess’ Pride ‘n’ Joy begins with an hour of dance music provided by DJ Douvet, allowing attendees to interact with other viewers in a party setting. Each of the three episodes will showcase two rounds of HEIST’s party game, Lip Sync Roulette, a game that features curated contestants who lip-sync a random song chosen by the hosts.

Princess’ Pride ‘n’ Joy continues the company’s pandemic-era HEIST Takeovers, adding a new twist with a continuing and evolving narrative.

“We’ve been doing digital HEIST Takeovers since the pandemic started. As we continued with them, we really wanted to try adding a story into our party atmosphere,” says Richie Wilcox. “And so here we are. It’s going to be a mix of dancing, partying, lip-syncing and storytelling. I mean, that’s gonna be fun.”

HEIST presents Princess’ Pride ‘n’ Joy over three episodes on April 15, April 29, and May 13. Visit liveheist.com for tickets and information.
