You’ve no doubt heard of Black Friday and maybe Cyber Monday, but perhaps you’ve not heard of Giving Tuesday.
According to givingtuesday.ca, Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering taking place each year on the Tuesday after Black Friday. It is a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for Giving Tuesday.
GivingTuesday harnesses social media’s potential and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities by providing a platform to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges.
And because of the pandemic, the challenges faced by our arts community is greater than ever. They need our help.
