We are pleased to announce the 14th edition of the Animation Festival of Halifax (AFX 14), celebrating the art and industry of animation!

There is so much in store at this year’s Animation Festival: Open Animation Studios, Family Friendly Screenings, Industry Panels, Theatrical Premiers, Artist Q&As and even an 8-piece ensemble performing new music to some of the earliest surviving animations!

AFX is always a very collaborative event. It is a project of Carbon Arc Independent Cinema Co-Op, co-presented with three other venues: Halifax Central Library, Wonder’neath and Bus Stop Theatre. AFX 14 also contains partner events with Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax Festival of Working People and the Arts, Halifax Public Libraries’ Mini-Con and NOVAFest.

The passion and contribution of much volunteer effort from the local community has tied together a fantastic 14th edition of AFX that remains 90% either free or PWYC for the community to attend.
