This unique performance unites three captivating musical traditions deeply rooted in the essence of breath, the vital force connecting all cultures and peoples. Showcasing the traditional music of the Mi’kmaq, the enthralling Tuvan throat singing technique of Khöömei, and the soulful sounds of Persian classical music featuring the ney flute, this concert celebrates the power of breath in music. The renowned five-musician ensemble Constantinople, with 20 albums to its credit, includes ney player Kianoush Khalilian. The ensemble is joined by Mi’kmaw drummer and vocalist Darlene Gijuminag, heir to a living Indigenous tradition that finds its source in the sounds of nature and renowned artist of Khöömei.
