Neptune Theatre presents How the Other Half Loves on its Fountain Hall Stage from October 21 – November 16, 2025.

Ayckbourn’s brilliantly constructed farce follows three married couples whose lives are hopelessly entwined through a web of love affairs, lies, and misunderstandings. Frank employs Bob and William and is considering William for a promotion. But Bob is entangled in an affair with Fiona—Frank’s wife—while struggling with his own strained marriage to Teresa. Meanwhile, Mary suspects (incorrectly) that her husband William is being unfaithful.

The plot spins delightfully out of control when the adulterous pairs invite William and Mary to dinner on successive evenings—on a single set—creating a dazzlingly clever overlapping scene that’s become a hallmark of the play. As suspicions mount and relationships unravel, only the truth can restore order to the chaos.
