Mark your calendars for micro/MACRO’25, featuring the Upstream Orchestra on Saturday, May 3, at the Joseph Strug Concert Hall, where contemporary classical and jazz improvisations come together in a groundbreaking performance.

Under the direction of conductor Jeff Reilly, this unique concert will feature 25 improvising musicians bringing small compositions to life, transforming them into expansive and dynamic sonic forms.

The program showcases works by Halifax’s celebrated composers, like Sam Wilson, Andrew Jackson, Evan Syliboy, and Jérôme Blais, as well as emerging student talents from the Fountain School of Performing Arts.
