Tell Me the Truth About Love

Event Details

Dartmouth Community Concert Association presents tenor Marcel d’Entremont, pianist Dakota Scott-Digout and soprano Tracy Cantin.

Billing themselves Tracey.Marcel. Dakota, these three young musicians are rising stars on the Canadian music scene, with Marcel d’Entremont and Dakota Scott-Digout hailing from Nova Scotia. Their program, Tell Me the Truth About Love, is just in time for Valentine’s Day, with an eclectic mix of music about love featuring composers ranging from Debussy, Duparc, Schumann and Beethoven to Benjamin Britten.

Soprano Tracy Cantin made a surprise debut at the Canadian Opera Company in 2018 in the title role of Donizetti’s demanding Anna Bolena, replacing ailing superstar soprano Sondra Radvanovsky. Cantin graduated from the prestigious Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago. She’s performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony and was a 2016 National Semi-Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Marcel d’Entremont recently performed the role of Rodolfo over 20 times in a cross-Canada tour of La Boheme with Against the Grain Theatre, nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. He also performed for tens of thousands for six seasons with international casts in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

Dakota Scott-Digout is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music Arts at the University of Toronto. In addition to his busy collaborative career, he is also in demand as a vocal coach, soloist and teacher.
