Tell us about Giant Killer Shark: The Musical.
Giant Killer Shark: The Musical is a big, goofy musical parody of a certain 1975 blockbuster. When a giant killer shark unleashes chaos on a copyright-protected beach community, it’s up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down. Stuffed with fifteen original songs, and performed by a cast of three women, this hilarious hour-long romp will have hearts racing, jaws clenched, and funny bones tickled.
Describe your show in three words.
Shark. Musical. Jackhammer.
Why should someone come see your show?
Giant Killer Shark: The Musical is everything you could want from a fringe show; three hilarious performers attempting something big and bold, with all the heart, and none of the budget to do it. Whether you’re familiar with stories of giant sharks or not, this show’s hilarious songs, instantly iconic choreography, and even a few puppets will have something to delight everyone.
If your show was a superhero which superhero would it be, and why?
We would be the super-powered offspring of The Tick and Squirrel Girl. A squirrel/tick hybrid. The Squick.
If you could see only one show at the Halifax Fringe Festival this year, besides your own, what show would that be?
Our pal Dorian Lang is directing Late Company by Jordan Tannahill, and we can’t wait to see what he does with this challenging contemporary drama
