Cecilia Concerts has unveiled its 37th season, featuring more than 40 classical musicians in a series running from September 2025 to May 2026 at The Stage at St. Andrew’s.
It is a true honour to be named Musician-in-Residence for Cecilia Concerts in Halifax, a city that has felt like a musical home since my debut there in 2016. – Bryan Cheng
The season opens September 25 with a performance by CelloFellos, the duo of Canadian cellist Bryan Cheng, recently named Cecilia Concerts’ 2025–26 Musician-in-Residence, and German cellist Leonard Disselhorst.
“It is a true honour to be named Musician-in-Residence for Cecilia Concerts in Halifax, a city that has felt like a musical home since my debut there in 2016,” says Cheng in a media release. As part of his residency, Cheng will curate and perform three feature concerts.
Other highlights of the season include performances by France’s Quatuor Cobalt, violinist Kevin Zhu and the return of Ukrainian pianist Illia Ovcharenko to Halifax.
The Canadian Trio Uchida-Crozman-Chiu are also scheduled to perform, as well as Trio Seoul and Canadian Juno Award-winning violinist Mark Fewer and pianist Mathieu Gaudet.
