The local acts scheduled to perform are Halifax singer, rapper, composer and storyteller Aquakultre, who will open Adam Baldwin and Jenny Wren’s free show on July 16; North Preston R&B artist JupiterReign and Halifax-based hip-hop artist Kxng Wooz will open for Big Boi on July 19; and Nova Scotia-based multidisciplinary artist Leanne Hoffman will open for St. Vincent on July 20.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have this level of talent in our own backyard,” says Tenille Goodspeed, executive director of the Halifax Jazz Festival. “Pairing local artists with global icons is a reflection of what this festival is all about—celebrating community, showcasing excellence, and creating opportunities for our homegrown talent to take center stage.”

The 2025 TD Halifax Jazz Festival takes place at venues around Halifax from July 15 to 20, 2025. Visit halifaxjazzfestival.ca for more information.
