Cecilia Concerts opens its 36th season of chamber music concerts with a solo piano performance by Québécois pianist Jean-Philippe Sylvestre.

Recognized as one of Canada’s foremost pianists, having performed at prestigious venues worldwide, Sylvestre is known for delivering performances that blend his skills at the piano with heartfelt emotion. Known for engaging with his audiences with music and commentary, his performances always offer a deeper appreciation of the works presented.

Sylvestre will perform a program blending beloved classics and hidden gems, featuring Franz Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, Maurice Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte, Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, and J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor.
Highlighting Sylvestre’s commitment to performing works by Québecois composers, the award-winning pianist will also perform Canadian composer André Mathieu’s Concerto de Québec.
