Halifax Presents returned Live at The Carleton in our continuing live online music series as we welcomed Rudy Pacé on April 15.

A third-generation East Coast singer-songwriter, Rudy Pacé has been compared to the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. His catalogue of music includes hard-hitting brutally honest commentary on very real issues to heartbreaking folk ballads that anyone who has been in love or has fallen hard out of it will relate.

While a solo act at times, Pacé is also the frontman for the Halifax-based Rudy & the Pacé Family Orchestra. The band’s name is a tribute to Pacé’s great grandfather Emilio, who migrated from Italy to Canada in the 1920s and went onto form the well-known Maritime act Emilio Pacé and his Family Orchestra. The band released their first EP Vanguard in 2019.

In this latest in our ongoing Live at The Carleton series, Rudy performs some of his original work, including two brand new songs, and we go behind the music to find out more.
