Halifax Presents returned to The Carleton for the second of our online music series as we welcomed the acoustic duo Skin & Jones on March 24.

With Paul Brushett on lead vocals and Thomas Majcan on guitar, Skin & Jones combines an eclectic mix of musical genres from Americana to funk, country to jazz, with influences from rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm and blues.

Majcan (Skin) is the duo’s guitarist whose technical prowess and a knack for arrangement holds it all together. Handling the majority of the vocals, Brushett (Jones) is known in some circles as “The Man of 10,000 Songs” given his uncanny ability to remember almost every song he has ever heard.

With over 70 years of combined experience, their chance meeting encouraged them to strike out together, playing a constant stream of pubs, clubs, and corporate events. The duo released their debut album Paper Thin in 2019, available on Apple Music and other digital platforms.

In this latest in our Live at The Carleton series, Skin & Jones performs some of their original work, and we go behind the music to find out more.
