We've got the performing arts covered in Halifax!
We've got the performing arts covered in Halifax!

Coast-to-coast from the same folks who brought you the inside scoop on the live performing arts scene with Vancouver Presents, comes Halifax’s new source for theatre, dance, music, film, and more.

Halifax Presents offers a single source for everything that is happening in the arts. From the latest stage reviews to interviews with Halifax’s stars of stage, screen, music and more, Halifax Presents offers a unique and immersive experience into the world of arts and culture throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Halifax Presents was created by Mark Robins in 2018 in recognition of the diminishing coverage of the arts in traditional media and the obvious appetite for thoughtful and comprehensive coverage of the local arts scene.

This is not a money-making venture. We are a volunteer-driven website. Our contributors do this part-time while pursuing their own careers, and none of them get paid. We all do it for the love of the arts, not for a paycheck.

While Halifax Presents does receive some funds from the Google ads we run, they are used exclusively to pay for the physical running of the website itself.

Halifax Presents’ contributing editor Mark Robins has been writing about the performing arts for almost twenty years. A professional writer, he has written professionally for both Xtra, and an international trade magazine. Mark is no stranger to the stage himself, having been both an actor and director. He even won an acting award once. In addition to writing and editing for Halifax Presents he is also contributing editor at Vancouver Presents. He is a past member of the jury for The Jessie’s Critics Choice Innovation Award, the professional theatre awards in Vancouver. Mark and his partner David are recent transplants from the West Coast and now call Halifax home.
