Born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Brent Butt discovered his knack for humour early on and pursued a stand-up comedy career at 20, swiftly headlining top clubs in Toronto.
His success led to international tours and major festival appearances.
While earning a reputation as one of Canada’s funniest, he created the sitcom “Corner Gas,” an instant hit with widespread acclaim and international reach.
Butt received accolades, including an International Emmy nomination. Following this, he received a Diamond Jubilee Medal for contributions to the community and country. His film “No Clue” and the return to Dog River with “Corner Gas: The Movie” gained further acclaim, with the latter earning a Golden Screen Award.
Butt’s animated reboot, “Corner Gas: Animated,” became Canada’s highest-rated show, also streaming in the U.S. on IMDB TV. Multiple awards followed, and the final season is now available.
Recently, Butt’s debut novel, “HUGE,” achieved instant success as a bestseller in Canada.
