Tell us about Adam Believes in Himself (Now). What can audiences expect?
Adam Believes in Himself (Now) is a 50-minute stand-up comedy show, which is being recorded to be released as a comedy album.
I’m a queer comedian from Halifax. I was long-listed in the CBC Comedy Next Up competition as one of the top 100 up-and-coming comedians in Canada and won gold in the Best Of Halifax reader’s poll for best comedy show.
What inspired Adam Believes in Himself (Now)?
I’ve always been someone who doubts myself, and stand-up has really helped me get past a lot of that. This show celebrates what stand-up has done for my life and how it has given me the confidence to keep at it. Stand-up is the thing I love doing most in the world.
Why this particular show now?
The last few years really took the wind out of my sails, and I want to get back the momentum I had pre-pandemic. I’m breaking out the old hits and lots of new jokes in a review of my stand-up work so far.
What do you hope audiences leave Adam Believes in Himself (Now)Â talking about?
How gorgeous the wardrobe is. I splashed out for a huge purple tulle coat I’m quite excited about. Also, how much they laughed. Laughs are my favourite thing, and I’m packing as many in as I can.
Why should someone come to see Adam Believes in Himself (Now)?
I put on a great show, and their laughs will be immortalized in a soon-to-be very popular stand-up comedy album. Imagine. Let’s top the charts together.
