After a two-year pandemic hiatus, organizers have announced The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo will return live in 2022.
“We are very excited to be producing the show again after a long twenty months of hibernation,” says Scott Long, managing director and executive producer of the Tattoo, in a media release. “The production team is working tirelessly to create one of the best shows yet and we look forward to hosting our cast and audience once again in person at Scotiabank Centre.”
The Tattoo’s motto “we stir the heart and call you home” will provide inspiration for the 2022 show’s creative theme focuing on safely coming together once again.
The 2022 Tattoo will feature talent from around the globe, including the Heeresmusikkorps Neubrandenburg (German Army Band Neubrandenburg) from Germany, the IMPS Motorcycle Display Team from the United Kingdom, and the Vancouver Police Pipe Band from British Columbia. The Tattoo will make additional cast announcements in the coming weeks, including local talent, new international acts, and the return of favourites.
As part of its strategy to engage with youth and families, the Tattoo will offer free tickets to kids 18 and under with the purchase of an adult or senior ticket.
“The Tattoo strives to position itself as the premier family entertainment event of the year, and our free tickets for kids offer makes the show more accessible than ever for young families,” says Long.
In addition, those purchasing tickets for the 2022 Tattoo until November 26 will receive free access to the Tattoo’s Spirit of Nova Scotia virtual show, which will be released for online streaming ahead of the holiday season this year.
The 2022 Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo runs at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Halifax from June 25 through July 2, 2022. Visit the Tattoo’s website for tickets and more information.
