Tell us about Clue: A Murder-lesque Mystery. What can audiences expect?

Our show is a night of burlesque, comedy, improv and mystery. Through the evening, our colourful characters will present their alibis and plead their innocence to the murder in sexy and seductive ways. Containing mature themes, it is recommended for ages 18+.

Test your detective skills by voting online during our show to see if you can predict whodunit. Our autopsy results are still being faxed in from the lab, and even our cast of suspects will be surprised.

What was the inspiration for Clue: A Murder-lesque Mystery?

The original inspiration came from the classic board game with an improv twist. With even our suspects in the dark about the killer, we can expect a wild night of surprises.

Why this particular show now?

This will be the third installment of the Clue: Burlesque series originally produced by The Lady Corbeau in 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, delays and complications from the last two years have set back and postponed the retelling of this show. However, teaming up with Elle Lixir, we are thrilled to bring burlesque to the forefront of live-performance art as a part of the Fringe Festival.

What do you hope audiences leave Clue: A Murder-lesque Mystery talking about?

Burlesque as an art form is thriving and booming in the Halifax scene, and the creativity of the art form is something unlike many have experienced. We want our audience to leave with a hunger to see more burlesque shows in Halifax.

Why should someone come to see Clue: A Murder-lesque Mystery?

It’s been a long time since a full burlesque showcase has been featured in Fringe. With our show being a fan-favourite in the burlesque scene, this long-awaited third installment of Clue will be a must-see event to close the Fringe.

The Halifax Fringe Festival returns to live in-person performances from September 1 through September 11, with more than 55 productions taking place at venues across the downtown and North End neighbourhoods.
