Multi-platinum indie pop group Fitz and the Tantrums and the legendary “queen of country rock,” Emmylou Harris, are among the mainstage headliners announced to perform at this year’s TD Halifax Jazz Festival (HJF).
Taking place July 9 to 14 on the Halifax Waterfront, the TD Main Stage will also play host to blues rocker Matt Andersen and his band The Big Bottle of Joy, along with the Grammy-nominated The War and Treaty.

Also announced are jazz guitarist Julian Lage and pianist Emmet Cohen with their respective trios at St. Matthew’s United Church. The first acts revealed for The Carleton include Ukrainian soul singer and bandurist Maryna Krut, Juno Award-winning jazz group Avataar and French/American jazz singer Laura Anglade.

“Halifax music fans are in for a treat this summer,” says HJF executive director Tenille Goodspeed. The waterfront and venues around the city will be bursting with great music. With such a strong lineup already, it is hard to believe we still have more up our sleeves. As always, the Halifax Jazz Festival has something for everyone, with more to come.”
